The name

A nukhada is the captain of the dhow.

Before the city, the men who steered the pearling boats out of the creek were called النوخذة. The shop took his name and his wheel. You will find it on the sign outside, on the counter and on the wall inside.

What happens inside is plainer: national dress for men, measured and sewn by tailors who know how a kandura should sit and fall.

What we make

The kandura, and what goes with it.
